I have just resigned from Lifesabet. I will fulfill my contract and write articles and make sports selections on the main site (not in the forums) until the end of this month.

Therefore, anybody who had a problem with Lifesabet.com solely because of my involvement here should no longer have any problem with this site.

But don't believe anything you post, so I will wait to hear it from Lifesabet guy.

The boss is a nice guy. Unfortunately, he doesn't know how to deal with trolls. All trolls understand is a ball bat swung in their direction.

I'm wielding a ball bat until the manager (the boss) pulls me from the lineup.

As long as I'm employed by or working for this site, I'm going to run this forum properly. If the owner of this site has a problem with that, he can fire me or remove my privileges here, which I will interpret as a firing.

I have a simple request -- Play nice. I have a simple way of dealing with people who don't. I kick their ass out. That makes perfect sense to me.

There's no reason in the world that people can't be civil to each other. There's no call for bashing, flaming, degrading people, or acting like an idiot. There's no reason that people who act like adults should have to put up with that kind of behavior.

As long as I'm here in any capacity, people here will behave like adults and be courteous to each other or they can leave. We have a good bunch of people here, and I'll be hung if I'm going to let a few OBSESSED individuals ruin it for everybody else.

Boss: if you have a problem with that position of mine, you're welcome to send me down the road and keep trying to play "Mr. Nice Guy". I won't have any hard feelings if you do.

But if you do that, remember that I warned you that it wouldn't work. The posts by ak47316 and Dell Dude, and motown mike are a testement to what playing "nice guy" will do. The old saw "Give them an inch and they'll take a mile" comes to mind.

Okay, here's how it's going to work.

I was too busy trying to be cute before. That didn't work. Then I was too busy trying to please everybody. That didn't work, either. After that, I was too strict. That didn't do any good. It got to the point where I was so paranoid that I was swinging my sword at phantoms.

No more.

The forum will be open to guests. No IP's are banned, no email addresses are banned. If you want to use proxies or AOL and hide behind a Yahoo or Hotmail email address, feel free. If you only want to lurk, go ahead. Everybody can get in and everybody can make a username.

There won't be any stupid quotas to be a member. Feel free to post whenever you like, as often or seldom as you like or to not post if you don't want to.

Instead of trying to prevent problems from happening, we're going to deal with them as they occur. If somebody wants to wait until we're asleep and then make a username and do something idiotic, they'll get away with it until we see it and get rid of it.

Again, besides having to be at least 18, there's only one rule here: play nice. That doesn't mean you can't joke and tease each other. It does mean that open hostility and nasty flaming will not be tolerated. As adults, we all should know the difference.

If I'm still around tomorrow, I'll try to get the E-Horse contest up again by Wednesday, although there's no guarantee that it will resume.

Once more, please do not interpret my return here (assuming I get to stick around) as meaning that we're going to be clamping down and getting strict again. I'm just as much for joking and GOOD-NATURED teasing as the next guy. Why am I the only one who thinks Butch controls that entire site. He is the owner, the moderator, the advertisers, the posters - everything and everybody. No one in their right mind would put up with him for two seconds.
